Kennedy, Jr. reportedly had a meeting just as the Republican National Convention began Monday in Milwaukee, though Kennedy was quick to quash rumors that the end of his Oval Office bid was near. Multiple people familiar with the meeting said Policy The two men met to discuss the possibility of Trump receiving Kennedy’s endorsement. However, Kennedy appears to have declined the offer. “There are a lot of rumors circulating about my meeting this morning with President Trump,” he quickly posted on X, formerly Twitter, adding that the “main topic” the two men discussed was “national unity.” He also wrote, “I hope to meet with Democratic leaders on this as well,” before adding, “No, I am not dropping out of the race.” Shortly after their meeting, Trump expressed support for Kennedy receiving Secret Service protection, which the Biden administration quickly granted.
