Reginald the Vampire Cancelled by Syfy After Season 2

Reginald the Vampire has been canceled by Syfy.

Based on the Fat Vampire book series by Johnny B. Truant, Reginald the Vampire first aired on Syfy in 2022. The series was renewed for a second season in January 2023, which then premiered on May 8, 2024. The season 2 (and now series) finale aired on July 10, 2024.

According to Deadline, Syfy has now decided not to continue the series beyond Reginald the Vampire season 2.

The news comes shortly after Syfy’s Resident Alien premiered on USA Network for its fourth season. Deadline also reports that the fate of Syfy’s Chucky series remains uncertain, as it has yet to be officially renewed for a fourth season as of this writing.

What was Syfy’s Reginald the Vampire about?

Reginald the Vampire primarily starred Jacob Batalon of Spider-Man: Homecoming fame as Reginald Andres. The series’ cast also included Mandela Van Peebles as Maurice Miller, Em Haine as Sarah Kinney, Christin Park as Nikki, Aren Buchholz as Todd, Savannah Basley as Angela, Thailey Roberge as Claire, and Marguerite Hanna as Ashley.

“Imagine a world full of handsome, fit, and vain vampires. Reginald Andres dives in as an unlikely hero who must overcome all sorts of obstacles: the girl he loves but can’t be with, a tyrannical manager at work, and the vampire leader who wants him dead,” reads the synopsis for the series’ first season. “Luckily, Reginald discovers he has some little-known powers of his own.”

The series was executive produced by showrunner Harley Peyton, Jeremiah Chechik, Todd Berger, Lindsay Macadam, Brett Burlock and Peter Emerson. Batalon served as co-executive producer, while Great Pacific Media, Modern Story Company, December Films and Cineflix Studios produced the series.

The first season of Reginald the Vampire is currently streaming on Hulu.
