Manchester City have rejected a £25million bid from Al-Nassr for Ederson with the goalkeeper’s future hanging in the balance.

The Brazilian, 30, has been a revelation for the Premier League champions since his move to the Etihad from Benfica in 2017, but the goalkeeper is said to be keen to become the latest top-flight star to move to Saudi Arabia.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s side Al-Nassr are ready to offer the goalkeeper a monster deal worth around £900,000 to join them in the Saudi Pro League.

Al-Nassr duly confirmed their interest with a £25million bid – but the champions want to keep their number one and have turned down the offer – which is just half the amount they are willing to cash in.

Despite City’s vast resources, it appears they are now willing to match the sort of numbers on offer in the Middle East, but they will still try to convince Ederson to sign a new contract.

According to The Sun, City are determined to keep Ederson at the Etihad and the club’s bosses are prepared to offer the player a 75% pay rise in crucial negotiations this week. Ederson could pocket around £1m per month with such terms, and it would appear to be a take-it-or-leave-it deal.

City extended the contract of Ederson’s understudy Stefan Ortega last month and he is likely to be promoted to first choice if Ederson leaves.
