Shannen Doherty’s mother Rosa sends message to actress’s fans after her death

On Monday, just two days after losing his daughter, Rosa Doherty remembered the late actress for the first time in a statement to People. THE Beverly Hills, 90210 star died at the age of 53 July 13th after a long journey with breast cancer.

“She is my beautiful daughter and my heart,” Rosa told the outlet. “Our family wants to thank everyone who has shown love and support to our Shannen throughout her life. We are truly grateful.”

Shannen was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. After many rounds of chemotherapy, she announced that she was in remission in 2017. But she revealed in February 2020 that he came back as stage 4 metastatic cancer.

In June, Shannen emotionally revealed her Let’s be clear podcast that She would undergo chemotherapy again for her stage 4 breast cancer after the composition of its cancer cells has progressed and spread to his brain.

ET confirmed that the Charm The star died Saturday as her longtime publicist Leslie Sloane said Shannen “lost her battle with cancer.”

“It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty,” the statement read. “On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of battling the disease.”

The statement continued: “The devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend was surrounded by her loved ones and her dog, Bowie. The family requests privacy at this time so that she may grieve in peace.”

Since his death, Shannen has been remembered for his career, life and friendship by fans, friends and co-stars including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jason Priestley, Brian Austin Green, Jennie Garth, Tori Spellingand much more.
