Stalin: Why Stalin remained silent when DMK was part of UPA govt: Annamalai | Chennai News

Chennai: BJP state president K Annamalai on Monday slammed Chief Minister MK Stalin for his demand that education be moved from the Concurrent List to the State List. He said Stalin had remained silent when the DMK was part of the UPA government at the Centre for nearly a decade. Annamalai posted on X: “It is surprising that the DMK does not remember these demands whenever it is part of the Union government. In 2006, the DMK promised to bring education back to the State List. Why did the DMK, which was an all-powerful element in the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre, not fulfil this promise?” In his post on X, Annamalai demanded to know: “If the DMK had wanted to, could it not have put pressure on the Congress? Why are you creating drama now after remaining silent for nearly 10 years.” » Earlier, Stalin, while extending the free breakfast scheme to students of government-aided primary schools, asked whether the BJP-led government at the Centre was ready to shift education from the Concurrent List to the State List. Meanwhile, Tennessee BJP spokesperson ANS Prasad termed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s letter to Stalin against NEET as “political opportunism”. In a statement, Prasad said Rahul Gandhi was spreading misinformation and his anti-NEET campaign was against the dreams of rural students.
