Why YCP leaders are silent on Vijay Sai Reddy issue?

Why YCP leaders are silent on Vijay Sai Reddy issue?

Usually, when opponents target a politician with an accusation, his party members come forward and support him, irrespective of the issue. Whenever the YSRCP has launched a malicious campaign against a TDP leader in the last five years, many others have extended moral support to that leader by counterattacking the accusations.

On the other hand, the YSRCP leaders have maintained a stoic silence on the recent controversy surrounding Vijay Sai Reddy. It is known that Sai Reddy is a Rajyasabha MP and also the national general secretary of the YSRCP. He is considered a close aide of Jagan Mohan Reddy. Yet, there has been no response from any notable leader of the party. Surprisingly enough, even Jagan has decided to refrain from reacting to the issue.

On Monday, Vijay Sai Reddy addressed a press conference following the shocking allegations levelled by Deputy Commissioner of Endowments Kalingiri Shanthi’s husband Madan Mohan Manipati. He was angry during the media interaction against several news channels for airing baseless stories that aim to tarnish his image.

Interestingly, none of the YSRCP leaders have reacted on this issue so far. This has come as a big surprise to everyone as Sai Reddy is a senior leader in the party who gave the orders when Jagan was the chief minister of the state.

In his press conference, Sai Reddy said that no one involved in this episode would be spared, even if he belongs to his own party. This statement raised suspicions as to whether a senior YSRCP leader was behind this whole controversy. The silence of the YSRCP high command on the issue further increased this doubt.

Moreover, he announced that he would soon start a media house to attack his opponents. So, is he indirectly hinting that he has no support from Jagan’s Sakshi media and other leaders? Only time will tell why there is no sympathy for Vijay Sai Reddy even among his party members.
