Armed robber posts photo on social media, gets caught, Justice Department says

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – A Charlotte armed robbery suspect who bragged about his criminal activity with photos on social media has received a lengthy prison sentence, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of North Carolina announced.

Hasahn Flowe, 27, of Charlotte, will serve more than nine years in prison after pleading guilty in February 2023 to Hobbs Act robbery and possession and brandishing of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.

Court documents state that in January 2023, Flowe robbed a Sam’s Mart on Beatties Ford Road and a 7-Eleven on Statesville Road. He was armed with a firearm during both robberies.

During the investigation, investigators found photos on social media of Flowe wearing a bandana and the gun he was seen with in surveillance footage. He was questioned shortly after and later arrested, the district attorney’s office said.

The weapon was also recovered.
