‘Tell Me Lies’ Star Jackson White Announces Death of Father Jack White

Jackson White mourns the loss of his father, Jack White.

On Tuesday, July 16, the Tell me lies The 28-year-old star announced his father’s death on Instagram. Along with a series of photos and videos of the drummer performing, the actor spoke about the impact Jack had on his life.

“This guy taught me everything,” Jackson wrote in the post’s caption. “We had our ups and downs, like a man with his father. But in the end, it was just love.”

“He was an open book, a fighter, honestly the funniest person my sister and I knew, and he single-handedly invented the loudest, most powerful backbeat of any drummer I’ve ever seen,” Jackson continued.

Although the actor did not share his father’s suffering in his final days, he said the drummer was “no longer in pain” and that he and his sister will continue to remember him as “a 6’4″ man in a denim shirt and a Starbucks muffin, driving us everywhere, teaching us every important song ever written.”

“I wear his shoes every day. This is not a metaphor, he had really cool shoes,” Jackson joked. “Big Jack White. 1954-2024. I love you, Dad, forever.”

Jack was married to Katey Sagal from 1993 to 2000. They went on to have two children, Jackson and Sarah Grace White, before filing for divorce.

In the comments, Sagal, 70, also reflected on the death of her late ex-husband and thanked him for helping her bring her children into the world.

“Beautiful Jackson and beautiful Sarah, I will always be grateful to your father for you!” she commented. “Thank you Jack❤️🙏. Free at last.”

Although he began his career in music like his father, Jackson followed in his mother’s footsteps and turned to acting.

In Tell me liesHe starred alongside Sagal, who played his on-screen mother in the show’s first season. In 2022, Jackson described the experience to The Seattle Times as “crazy,” but noted that it was “perfect casting.”

“I’m friends with my mom, and we had to be extremely passive aggressive and tense, but it was so fun and exciting to build this relationship and talk to each other in ways we’d never really talked to each other,” he recalls.
