Las Vegas Raiders: Randy Moss has clear message for Davante Adams amid trade rumors

Former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Randy Moss is one of the greatest players in NFL history. A member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Moss spent two of his 14 seasons with the Raiders franchise. Of course, he is best known for his years with the Minnesota Vikings and his three dominant seasons with the New England Patriots.

Throughout his NFL career, Moss accomplished just about everything there is to accomplish as a receiver. He won the Offensive Rookie of the Year award in 1998, while leading the NFL in receiving touchdowns, finishing third in MVP voting, and being named a first-team All-Pro (and making his first career Pro Bowl appearance).

Moss went on to lead the NFL in receiving touchdowns four more times. He finished his career with 15,292 receiving yards, the fourth most in league history. His 156 receiving touchdowns rank second all-time behind the great Jerry Rice.

There is one thing, however, that Moss never achieved during his career: a Super Bowl ring.

Current Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams could very well be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame someday. Like Moss, he put up ridiculous regular season numbers and is already considered one of the best receivers in the history of his former team, the Green Bay Packers.

But like Moss, he has yet to win a Super Bowl in his career. While it may be too late for Moss, Adams still has plenty of years ahead of him. The Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver didn’t mince words about Adams’ situation in a recent interview with Kay Adams:

“I really don’t see why he shouldn’t be chasing a ring,” Moss said in response to a question from Kay Adams about whether or not Davante should leave Las Vegas for a better team.

“He’s made his money, he’s made enough money, I won’t say he’s made all his money. He’s made enough money, so for him to be chasing a ring, I mean, I was chasing one.”

Moss later added: “My advice to him is to be himself and go get a ring.”

Adams asked Moss if going for a ring meant leaving the Raiders. He responded, “The Raiders are in the same division as the Kansas City Chiefs, I don’t see a ring in their near future, so if he’s going to go after a ring and go from there, what would he look like with Aaron Rodgers?”

He later said he would love to see the two reunite in New York.

Will the Las Vegas Raiders trade Davante Adams?

The short answer to the question of whether Las Vegas will trade Adams this summer is a resounding “no.” The Raiders have given no indication that they are even remotely interested in listening to potential trade offers for the All-Pro receiver.

Despite trade rumors, Adams’ agents recently said the star receiver was not looking for an exchange.

Things could change at the NFL trade deadline, but it appears the only way Adams and Rodgers can be reunited in the near future is if the Jets decide to move on from the future Hall of Fame quarterback and he joins his former number one target in the desert.
