Patrick Beverley announces shock transfer for next season

During his four seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers, Patrick Beverley gave fans plenty to cheer about. He joined the Clippers at an interesting time in the team’s history, as he witnessed the end of the “Lob City” era, as well as the beginning of the “213” era of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.

One thing that can be said about Pat Bev is that he was always himself. He never changed his personality and never toned down his unique and fiery personality. He was always authentically himself, and you either loved him for it or hated him for it, depending on whether he played for your favorite team.

This summer, Beverley had to make his choice about where he would play next season, and we finally know the verdict. On Tuesday morning, Pat Bev announced via his podcast that he would be accepting a major offer from abroad to play for Hapoel Tel Aviv BC in Israel.

There had been rumors in recent days that Beverley was either going to sign with an NBA team for the minimum or accept a big-money offer to play overseas. It seems Israel is where he really wants to be next season. “They gave me everything I asked for,” Pat said. “I couldn’t say no.”

The details of the contract have yet to be officially released, but the offer Beverley accepted was expected to be much larger than any NBA offer he had received. It’s certain that many Clippers fans will be sorry to see him leave the country and play elsewhere.

There’s still a chance Pat Bev will return to the United States after next season, but at 36, his playing career is certainly closer to the end than the beginning. Clippers fans who still appreciate Beverley can still watch from afar as he begins a new chapter in his career.
