glenWOODSTOCK is ready to rock

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (KREX) — Glenwood Springs’ upcoming concert isn’t a typical musical event. It was put together by teenagers.

The free concert, glenWOODSTOCK, begins at 5 pm, Saturday, at the Glenwood Springs Center Community Center lawn, 100 Wulfson Road. The event will feature dancing, games, food trucks, art vendors and more.

Local youth at the Glenwood Springs Community Center created, organized and designed the show.

“This unique event is not just a showcase of immense teen talent in music, art and entrepreneurship, but also an opportunity to support and celebrate our local community,” Cath Adams with the Glenwood Springs Community Center said in a press release.

“This event was a great hands-on opportunity for our youth to learn real job skills such as event planning, recruiting bands, community service, promotion, negotiation and more. glenWOODSTOCK is celebrating our youth and giving them meaning and purpose. We hope our community will enjoy celebrating with us at the inaugural festival.”

The music lineup has a variety of genres, consisting of alternative rock, 70s rock, grunge, pop/indie/girl rock, acoustic singers, country, folk and Midwest emo rock.
