JoJo-inspired video about Trump assassination attempt goes viral

JoJo-inspired video about Trump assassination attempt goes viral

Former US President Donald Trump was the victim of an assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania on July 13, 2024. US presidents have been the targets of assassination attempts in the past, the most famous being that of John F. Kennedy. However, this was the first time that an assassination attempt took place in real time. As such, it was not limited to dedicated political partisan organizations.

The event has managed to permeate every possible discourse imaginable. An animated adaptation of the Trump assassination attempt was even recently made, inspired by the popular Japanese anime series JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.

Trump takes a stance, or a spiritual manifestation of his soul, to deflect the bullet before it hits him in the video. The shooter, who has since been identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, is aiming at Trump. Inspired by JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, this idea allows characters to use their stance to do all sorts of activities and fight.

The video also parodies a now-famous image taken by Associated Press photographer Evan Vucci, which shows Trump covered in wounds, shaking his fist in front of an American flag and surrounded by Secret Service officials.

The video was shared on microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter) and has accumulated more than 7 million views.

One user commented: “This is very JoJo. Great idea.”

Another user praised how quickly the video was created: “The animator’s work is too fast.”

For a long time, viewers of the animated series have drawn comparisons between Trump and Funny Valentine, a character who debuted in Steel Ball Run, the seventh episode of the series.

It may be partly because of his blonde hair, but after the assassination attempt, more and more people began to draw parallels between them because of a moment in Steel Ball Run where Valentine is shot in the ear.
