According to a government source who spoke to The Post, federal investigators believe the TikTok star, who is a migrant and has gone viral on social media for pushing people to squat in homes in the United States, was a commander of a secret service unit in Venezuela before his unauthorized entry.

After illegally crossing the southern border in March, Leonel Moreno, who became famous for talking about his large income from government aid, was taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents for violating the conditions of his release.

In response to a source from Homeland Security, Moreno claimed to hold the position of commander of the General Directorate of Venezuelan Military Intelligence. After his arrest, intelligence services conducted a more in-depth investigation into Moreno’s background and lifestyle in Venezuela.

On April 23, 2022, Moreno, 27, entered Eagle Pass, Texas illegally. He was allowed to remain in the country, but he failed to properly register with ICE, resulting in his detention.

As border officials work to protect the country from potential threats, they often have difficulty obtaining information from other countries.

According to several Border Police sources who spoke to the Post, work is practically difficult in Venezuela because the local administration is unable to cooperate with U.S. authorities.

“Given what we know about these individuals, we have no rights to anything in the world. We have none, which is pretty awful,” said one border officer.

“I wanted to join the Border Patrol so I could defend people from terrorists.” And I’m like, “Well, I probably allowed terrorists to come into the country.”

Moreno is scheduled to appear in immigration court today while still being held at the Geauga County Jail in Ohio.

But sources say the judge overseeing his immigration case postponed his hearing because he could not find the money to hire a lawyer.
