Supreme Court issues notice to Centre on challenge to cancellation of super-specialty exam

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday issued notice to the Centre on a petition challenging the cancellation of the NEET SS super speciality exams for 2024.

A bench comprising Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra sought a response from the Union government on a petition filed by Rahul Balwan and others.

The court allowed the applicants to associate the National Examinations Council with the case.

She also sent an opinion to the Medical Advisory Committee of the National Medical Commission, requesting its responses.

The court set a new hearing for July 26.

In their petition, the petitioners have submitted that in order to cater to the needs of the NEET PG students, they will not conduct the exam this year. There is a fixed schedule for these exams as per the Ashish Ranjan judgment.
