Free Agent Breaks Silence on WWE Speculation – TJR Wrestling

Free Agent Breaks Silence on WWE Speculation – TJR Wrestling

A top free agent has dropped an interesting hint about WWE.

In 2024, WWE stepped up its recruiting by adding names like Jacob Fatu, Tonga Loa, Tama Tonga, Giulia, and Stephanie Vaquer. In the meantime, Hikuleo is also believed to have signed with the sports entertainment giant.

Despite the new additions, it seems the company isn’t done there.

On July 12, Sabin and Shelley faced off at a Prestige Wrestling event and appeared to say goodbye after the final bell. This sparked speculation that the pair had signed with a major company.

In an article published in the Wrestling Observer newsletter, Dave Meltzer stated that he believes the Motor City Machine Guns have a connection to WWE.

“Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley are expected to come here, or at least that’s what they say in the wrestling world. Nobody has officially said anything…

It’s been known for months that they’ve been in talks with AEW and WWE since their contracts with TNA expired. Lately, indications have been that WWE made the best offer, but it was expected that they’d side with whoever made the best offer…

They also remained completely silent about it and clearly made their decision one way or the other.

Alex Shelly Comments on WWE Ties

Despite speculation linking the pair to a move to WWE, Alex Shelley faced Alpha Zo at an event hosted by West Coast Pro Wrestling, DEADLOCK Pro-Wrestling and Prestige Wrestling.

After the match, Shelley addressed the crowd, saying, “Spoiler alert, I may not come back here.” The moment was captured on social media.

Shelley and Sabin have been free agents since April, when their contracts with TNA expired. The duo is widely regarded as one of the best tag teams in the world, having won gold in NJPW and ROH as well as TNA.
