Meet 90-year-old track star Florence Meiler

The decathlon, which consists of 10 events, is an Olympic sport that is not open to women. The winner is crowned “the best athlete in the world.” (Women compete in the heptathlon, which consists of seven events.) But some athletes, young and old, would like to change that. Sunday Morning senior contributor Ted Koppel meets Florence Meiler, a 90-year-old track star who is training for the U.S. Masters Combined Events Championship in Charlottesville, Virginia. He also meets Lauren Kuntz and Sophie Knudson, decathletes who are part of a growing movement to overcome the only barrier preventing women from competing in the decathlon at international competitions.
