Chennai Rail News: 59 trains cancelled on Pallavaram-Guduvancheri route from July 23 to August 14

Chennai Train Cancellation: Southern Railway’s Chennai division has announced a series of cancellations and modifications to train services along the Pallavaram-Guduvancheri line to facilitate essential technical maintenance work at Tambaram station. Passengers travelling between the Pallavaram-Guduvancheri line should brace for temporary disruptions from July 23 to August 14

Chennai Rail News: Regular trains between Pallavaram and Guduvancheri suspended

According to TimesNow report, the railway authorities have confirmed the complete cancellation of 55 train services during this period, a necessary measure to accommodate the ongoing terminal development work at Tambaram. To mitigate the impact on passengers, Southern Railway will operate 39 special train services during peak hours from 10 am to 12 pm, connecting Chennai Beach to Pallavaram and Guduvancheri to Chengalpattu. However, regular train services between Pallavaram and Guduvancheri will be completely suspended.

Chennai Rail News: 23 trains between Chennai Beach and Tambaram/Chengalpattu cancelled

Commuters should be aware of specific changes in train timings. A total of 23 local trains between Chennai Beach and Tambaram/Chengalpattu, scheduled between 10 am and 1.30 pm, will be cancelled. In response, 11 special trains will be operated to run between Chennai Beach and Pallavaram.

In the evening, nine trains to Tambaram and Chengalpattu will be cancelled between 7:19 pm and midnight. To fill the gap, five special trains will run between Chennai Beach and Pallavaram.

The cancellations will also affect the return journey, with 16 local trains from Chengalpattu/Tambaram to Chennai Beach suspended between 10am and 1.30pm. In their place, nine special trains will run from Pallavaram to Chennai Beach.

Chennai Train News: 7 trains from Chengalpattu/Guduvancheri/Tambaram to Chennai Beach canceled

Late night travellers will also face changes as seven trains plying Chengalpattu/Guduvancheri/Tambaram to Chennai Beach between 8:55 pm and 11:00 pm will be cancelled. However, four special services will be run from Pallavaram to Chennai Beach during this period.

To counter disruptions between Tambaram and Chengalpattu, Southern Railway will operate seven special trains between Guduvancheri and Chengalpattu from 10:45 am to 11 pm.

With an average of 5.5 million passengers using the Beach-Chengalpattu section daily, these changes are expected to impact commuters. Passengers are advised to check the latest timetables and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid any inconvenience during this maintenance period.
