Apple Announces Upcoming Vision Pro Exclusive Surfing Movies

Starting this week, Apple is releasing a series of films captured in Apple Immersive Video that will be presented exclusively on Apple Vision Pro. Among the VR films, several documentaries about surfing.

The first VR film related to surfing will be part of a series called Without BordersWhile the series will kick off with an episode featuring hot air balloons in Cappadocia, Turkey, the second installment will take viewers back to sea level. Titled Arctic surfingEpisode two will have viewers hitchhiking with surfers in the frigid waters north of the Arctic Circle.

Apple’s other surf-related VR offering will be a collaboration with Red Bull, a brand that is obviously no stranger to the world of extreme sports. Red Bull: Big Wave Surfing will follow surfers as they brave the notoriously strong waves of Teahupo’o. The film will shoot this summer and be available later this year.

This is the next generation of visual storytelling, and we’re excited to bring it to more people around the world.”
