1% Club’s Lee Mack Shares Five-Word Response As Player Blames Him For Blunder On Show

ITV’s popular game show The 1% Club returned on Saturday 2nd July with a repeat where 100 contestants tested their wits and intelligence.

In this repeat episode, hosted by comedian Lee, 55, players attempted to win a prize of up to £100,000 – but to win they had to answer a question that only 1% of the country would answer correctly.

Sarah Hannon was one of the contestants on the show and after missing the final, she joked that she blamed it all on Lee.

As Lee revealed the question, he said, “Here’s the 70 percent question.” The camera panned to a screen, where players could see five objects, including a cat, a bat, a coat, a hat, and a rug.

Lee then asked, “Which one is the intruder?”

At the end of the round, Lee revealed that nine contestants had answered the question incorrectly and would not advance to the next round.

He said, “We’ve lost nine of you. Let’s see the answer. Cat, bat and carpet all rhyme, but coat doesn’t.” Turning to some of the players who had answered the question wrong, Lee asked, “Sarah Hannon, oh, hello, what happened?”

Sarah went on to say, “I’m going to blame you because I’m starry-eyed.”
