Arsenal make fresh transfer offer for Premier League goalkeeper but refuse to meet £1m asking price

ARSENAL have made a fresh offer for Wolves goalkeeper Dan Bentley – and are hoping to seal the deal.

The Gunners are now talking about a move worth up to £300,000 for the former Brentford and Bristol City goalkeeper.

Wolves’ Daniel Bentley wanted by Gunners

They have been tracking the 31-year-old for weeks, as revealed by SunSport.

Wolves want £1m but the clubs are now closer to reaching a compromise.

Bentley is behind Jose Sa in the pecking order and made just five Premier League appearances last season.

And manager Gary O’Neil is looking for a new replacement – although he missed out on 37-year-old Kasper Schmeichel, who opted for Celtic.

Bentley could be interested in a move to Arsenal, even if it is THIRD choice, as Aaron Ramsdale is valued at £50m and has yet to find a buyer.

The former Gunners academy star left the club aged 15, joining Southend in 2009.

He then joined Brentford and Bristol City before signing for Wolves in January 2023.

Bentley has since provided cover for Sa, making just nine appearances in 18 months at Molineux.

However, he kept three clean sheets in those games and played 67 minutes against Arsenal in December last year.

In addition to Raya and Ramsdale, Mikel Arteta also has Estonian international Karl Hein among his options.

However, they released Arthur Okonkwo for free, who joined Wrexham after a successful loan spell.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have also announced the signing of 18-year-old Ajax goalkeeper Tommy Setford.

It cost just under £1 million.
