Balder X North Sea project partners consider FPSO installation schedule

According to the company’s latest results, Vår Energi is on track to increase its offshore production in Norway to around 400,000 boe/d by the end of 2025.

The Eldfisk North and Kristin South projects, in which the company is a partner, have recently been commissioned. Johan Castberg, operated by Equinor, is expected to start production in the fourth quarter.

During the refit of Vår Energi’s FPSO Balder X in the North Sea, modifications to improve the flexibility of installing the vessel on site are nearing completion. At the end of August, the partners will decide whether to start the installation before the winter period.

Following the company’s Cerisa discovery in the Gjøa region, gross recoverable resources from this and other nearby discoveries now total up to 110 MMboe, with potential for tie-back to the Gjøa platform.

The company also continues to streamline its offshore portfolio, having arranged the sale of its interests in Norne and Bøyla.
