Fergus Falls, MN – At approximately 10:12 a.m. Tuesday morning (July 23), the Fergus Falls Fire Department received a report of a vehicle on fire at the Lakeway Gas Station just outside of Fergus Falls.

First responders arrived on scene around 10:17 a.m. and extinguished the fire within 3 to 5 minutes.

Gas station workers had shut off the pumps before emergency services arrived, preventing the fire from spreading.

Fergus Falls police officers helped block off the parking lot and move vehicles away while the fire was extinguished.

According to Fergus Falls Fire Chief Ryan Muchow, the fire appears to have started in the engine compartment of the pickup truck before completely engulfing the cab.

While the pickup’s cab was engulfed in flames, damage to the fuel pump used by the truck was minor and no injuries were reported.
