Kamala Harris Makes False Claims About Trump’s September Debate

Vice President Kamala Harris falsely suggested that former President Donald Trump agreed to debate her in September and was now trying to withdraw from the debate.

“I’m ready to debate Donald Trump,” she told reporters. “I agreed to the debate on September 10, he had already agreed, but now it seems like he’s backtracking.”

“But I’m ready, and I think voters deserve to see the split screen that exists in this race on a debate stage and so I’m ready,” she added. “Let’s do it.”

This claim is false, because Trump never agreed to debate Harris on September 10; he agreed to debate President Joe Biden, who has since dropped out of the race due to his disastrous performance in the June debate. That performance was so bad that it injected his cognitive decline into the mainstream narrative after the media and the Democratic Party tried to cover it up and his poll numbers subsequently plummeted.

Trump said earlier this week that he was open to having multiple debates with Harris, but wanted to move the debate off ABC News because of the network’s bias.

However, following a later CNN poll that found that 73% of Democratic voters wanted someone other than Harris to be the nominee, the Trump campaign said it now wants to wait and see who the party’s official nominee will be before committing to anything.

“Given the ongoing political chaos surrounding Joe Biden and the Democratic Party, the details of the general election debate cannot be finalized until Democrats formally decide on their nominee,” the Trump campaign said in a statement. “Many in the Democratic Party — including Barack Hussein Obama — feel that Kamala Harris is a Marxist fraud who cannot beat President Trump, and they are still waiting for someone ‘better.’”

“Therefore, it would be inappropriate to schedule events with Harris, as Democrats could very well still change their minds,” the statement added.
