Car leaving Sengkang Hospital hits 39-year-old woman, 72-year-old driver takes her to hospital – Mothership.SG

A woman was allegedly “thrown into the air” after a car turning right out of Sengkang General Hospital (SKH) hit her on July 26, 2024.

Talk to MothershipThe woman’s husband, Lash, said the incident happened around 7.20am as she was crossing the road towards the hospital.

The green light was still flashing, but the driver apparently made a discretionary right turn without noticing her.

The collision sent his wife “flying,” Lash said.

Driver sent woman to hospital

The driver immediately stopped to help and sent his wife to SKH, Lash said.

Although she was released from the emergency room, she is still in shock and has pain in her right shoulder and hip, the husband said.

Lash is currently searching for witnesses to the crash, hoping to piece together what happened moments before impact.

The driver apologized and even bowed to him, Lash shared.

“So I’m not trying to name and shame him. I just wanted to reconstruct the accident and see what the impact was,” he said.

He also said he wanted to raise awareness about the danger in the area as he too had a near-miss in the same place about three years ago.

He added that his daughter escaped danger because she woke up late that day and did not accompany his wife.

Police are investigating

In response to MothershipFollowing police questioning, she said she was alerted to an accident involving a car and a pedestrian along 110 Sengkang Way East towards Sengkang East Road at around 8.35am.

A 72-year-old car driver is taking part in the investigations.

Police investigations are ongoing.
