What is a superhouse? 10 must-see mansions that are setting the high-end trend

If you mixed a mansion and a private resort hotel in a golden blender, the result would be a “superhouse.”

What exactly makes a superhouse? According to Forbes, “superhouses are 20,000 square feet or more and cater to the needs of our country’s growing ranks of ultra-high net worth individuals. Those desires include seclusion and security, as well as… lavish entertaining.”

Okay. Superhomes are luxury properties with huge amounts of space, and they’re reserved for the very wealthy. But the number of people who can afford them is growing.

“There are now more billionaires in the United States than ever before,” about 815, Forbes reports.

Surprisingly, not all of the homes we found with over 20,000 square feet of space are outrageously expensive. Highlighted below, their price ranges from $6.9 million to $60 million.

But the search is free! We thought you might like to get a personal look at the best examples of superhomes for sale in a state near you.

Built in 2013 and completely renovated, the mansion features Calacatta gold marble floors, silver leaf crystal chandeliers, imported tiles and custom stone fireplaces.
