Family can be complicated. Most of us refuse to get involved when a long-term relationship is going through a rough patch, but sometimes it’s not an easy decision to make.

This woman kept her grandchild despite knowing her sister had forbidden her estranged husband from hiring a nanny and had otherwise kept her secret.

Here’s what happened when his sister found out.

My stepsister and her husband separated for over 2 years because my stepsister didn’t feel like her husband was being a present enough father.

In her defense, he works a lot and that’s the only reason she has such an easy life, so our family thought she was making a huge mistake, but we chose to stay out of it because she’s too sensitive and would take anything we said the wrong way.

He agreed to her terms in an attempt to repair their marriage.

Her husband didn’t want to divorce her, so she gave him a long list of conditions he had to meet in order for her to consider getting back together with him.

One of the conditions was that when their son was with him, he couldn’t hire a nanny to look after him because she wanted him to prove that he would put their son before work and everything else.

Sometimes, however, he needed help.

Sometimes he just couldn’t do it and he would ask me to watch his son on several occasions, including once when he was abroad.

He asked me not to tell my half-sister and since the money was good, I kept his secret.

My stepsister took him back 3 months ago, which is when our arrangement ended.

Now the sister knows the truth and no one is sure what will happen.

Unfortunately, my husband blurted something out in front of her that made her suspicious.

She asked me and I’m horrible at lying so it all came out and now she’s mad at me and her husband.

The consequences were not terrible and she is considering leaving him again, which leads her to threaten my husband and me in turn.

My family supports him, even though none of this would have happened without him.
