Chief Minister Revanth Reddy slams Harish Rao for lying in Assembly

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday said BRS MLA and former minister T Harish Rao lied in the Assembly about installing meters on agricultural pump sets in the state.

Reacting sharply to Rao’s remarks, he said, “Harish Rao’s speech is full of lies. People are not ready to trust the opposition party. People have given mandate against BRS and punished them in open court. The opposition is standing still and making false statements,” he said. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday said BRS MLA and former minister T Harish Rao had lied in the Assembly in connection with the installation of meters on farm pump sets in the state.

Revanth Reddy said that the previous BRS government had sold the Outer Ring Road (ORR) for a paltry sum of Rs 7,000 crore. BRS leaders had swindled millions of rupees in a sheep distribution scam. Massive corruption took place in the prestigious Batukhamma saree distribution scheme. The previous government had exploited the sentiments of women.

BRS leaders have looted crores of rupees meant for innocent Kuruma and Yadav communities. Opposition leaders have been giving conflicting figures about the expenditure incurred on the Kaleshwaram project. Now they are talking about Rs 94,000 crore.

“We are ready to make public the statistical data of land worth millions of rupees sold by the previous government. The opposition only talks about debts and is silent about the facts about the sale of land,” he said.

“No progress has been made in the Palamuru Rangareddy lift irrigation project in the last 10 years. As much as Rs 20,000 crore was spent on the Palamuru project, but the project was not completed,” Revanth Reddy said, adding that Ranga Reddy district has been turned into a desert as it has been completely neglected.

Costly land in Ranga Reddy district was sold but no irrigation facility was built in the district. “It is not right for the BRS to lie even after people rejected the party in the Lok Sabha elections. Is the opposition ready for an inquiry into the distribution of Bathukamma sarees, KCR kits and the sheep distribution scheme if it implemented the previous BRS government honestly?” he asked.
