Ferrari Minty Forty F40 RM Sotheby’s Auction Info

RM Sotheby’s is set to auction the stunning 1991 Ferrari F40 ‘Minty Forty’. This exceptional vehicle is a unique interpretation of Ferrari’s iconic supercar, distinguished by its rare exterior finish, a tribute to the famous Verde Pallido 250 GTO built for Stirling Moss.

Originally finished in Rosso Corsa, chassis 88538 has a rich history, beginning with its delivery to Dieter Wolf in Germany in 1991. It has since changed hands several times and undergone extensive restoration, including accident repairs in 1998. The current owner, who acquired it in 2021, transformed the car by painting it in a striking pale green and reupholstering the interior in blue, adding a fresh and bold character to the legendary F40.

The F40 is celebrated as the last supercar developed during Enzo Ferrari’s lifetime, featuring a 478 hp twin-turbo V8 engine capable of reaching 62 mph in just 3.8 seconds. With its advanced racing-inspired design and impressive performance, it represents the pinnacle of automotive engineering of its era.

Chassis 88538, now dubbed the “Minty Forty,” retains its matching-numbers engine and gearbox, as confirmed by its Ferrari Classiche certification. This exceptional vehicle, along with a limited-production Amalgam model, is set to attract attention and bids at RM Sotheby’s upcoming Monterey auction, where it is expected to achieve $2,500,000.
