Hill and The Fugees were due to kick off their world tour this Friday (August 9) in Tampa, Florida, and will continue their US tour through September 21, before touring the UK and Europe in October, wrapping up their run of shows in Hamburg, Germany on November 1 – they had just announced additional dates for the European tour last week.

But it appears that the American leg of the tour has been canceled without notice or explanation. While the tour dates remain available on Hill’s official website, all of their U.S. concert dates have been removed from Live Nation’s website.

News of the US tour’s cancellation was not announced through official channels, but began spreading on social media after fans began posting screenshots of emails from Ticketmaster announcing that the shows had been cancelled and that refunds were being issued.

The message from Ticketmaster reads: “Unfortunately, the event organizer has had to cancel your event.”

At the time of publishing, all of the UK and European tour dates appear to still be intact, with tickets still on sale on Live Nation’s website. It’s not yet known whether these October and November dates will go ahead as planned. You can get tickets for the UK and Ireland shows here.

Current Lauryn Hill and the Fugees UK and European tour dates are:

9 – Cardiff, United Kingdom, Utilita Arena
12 – Manchester, United Kingdom, Co-op Live

The tour comes after the cancellation of a series of “Miseducation” concerts last November, with the artist citing “severe vocal strain over the last month.” She has since returned to the stage with a handful of shows in February, March and April of this year, including one at Coachella.

In January 2022, the Fugees canceled their planned tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of “The Score.” In a statement on social media, they wrote, “The COVID-19 pandemic continues to make touring difficult, and we want to ensure that we and our fans remain healthy and safe.”

In April 2022, Fugees member Pras Michel was convicted on 10 federal counts for his involvement in a billion-dollar money laundering scheme. Michel’s legal troubles would later be credited as one of the main reasons for the cancellation of the Fugees’ anniversary tour.
