Ukraine kills 400 Putin troops inside Russia as missiles hit column, forcing soldiers to flee for their lives

THIS is the moment a devastating Ukrainian missile strike killed 400 of Vladimir Putin’s troops in Russia.

The footage shows HIMARS pounding a convoy and Russian soldiers sprinting for their lives near Rylsk in the Kursk region.

Putin’s war machine has rushed to stop a surprise Ukrainian offensive launched two days ago into Russia, according to reports.

Ukraine’s courageous attack across the border caught the Russians off guard and captured a number of villages miles inside the country.

New black-and-white footage of the strike shows explosions multiplying one after another as HIMARS missiles hit the column of stationary trucks.

About 14 vehicles loaded with weapons and ammunition were destroyed in the strike.

Soldiers can be seen jumping out of trucks and vehicles at the front of the column fleeing the assault.

According to reports, 400 of Putin’s top men were killed in their own country in this audacious attack.

Earlier, images of the burning column strewn with decomposing bodies were posted on social media by a passing car.

Footage taken by locals in cars showed several trucks overturned on their sides while others were crushed and their wheels thrown into the air.

The wreckage of the convoy stretches for more than 100 metres along the road.

Shocked civilians can be heard asking: “How many men?”

As a second voice says: “So many men. Holy shit.”

The attack is one of the most humiliating defeats of the war for Russia so far, given that it took place inside its own country.

Ukraine has continued its sweeping advance into Russia with new footage capturing the moment a major Russian bomb depot and military airfield were destroyed in a massive kamikaze drone strike.

The devastating precision attack in Lipetsk forced hundreds of residents to flee four villages.

The footage shows the drones crashing to the ground and a huge fireball erupting followed by thick columns of smoke.

Regional Governor Igor Artamonov described the explosions as a “massive attack” and declared a state of emergency for the Lipetsk district.

Nine people were reportedly killed in the explosions.

Terrified residents also reported four powerful explosions near the village of Oktyabrskoye, with significant casualties expected.

Roads leading to the village were completely blocked and gunfire was heard constantly as Putin tried to retaliate.

According to reports, the Kremlin ordered Su-34 bombers to drop a number of FAB-500 aerial bombs on their own village of Darino in a desperate attempt to repel the Ukrainians.

Ukraine began its devastating Russian offensive earlier this week, when a huge tank convoy was seen storming Russian villages.

Thousands of soldiers are still said to be defending the territory of the Kursk region, supported by tanks and armored trucks.

Russian authorities were forced to declare a state of emergency following the shock invasion, with mass evacuations of civilians underway.

On Thursday, reports claimed that Ukraine had advanced up to 32 kilometers inside Russia, humiliating Putin.

The Russian Defense Ministry said it intercepted 75 drones overnight, including 26 over the Belgorod region, 19 over Lipetsk and seven over the Kursk region.

Seven unmanned boats were also sunk in the Black Sea, he said.

It comes as a senior politician close to the Kremlin has now said responsibility for the attacks should lie with Britain.

State Duma Committee member Adalbi Shkhagoshev accused the UK of instigating and assisting the operation.

He told Russian media: “Britain participated in all these sorties. English was heard.”

An embarrassed Putin lashed out Wednesday, calling Ukraine’s retaliatory strike a “large-scale provocation.”

Russian military leader General Valery Gerasimov was forced to confront the despot at a meeting and admit that a significant part of the region’s territory had been lost.

A snarling Putin said: “As you know, the kyiv regime has undertaken a new large-scale provocation.

“It indiscriminately fires different types of weapons, including rockets, at civilian buildings, residential houses and ambulances.”

Terrified Russians have also directly pleaded with Putin for help while accusing his regime of “lies” that led to the deaths of civilians by claiming the Ukrainian attack was under control.

This is not the first time that Ukraine has eliminated a Russian column.

Shortly after the war broke out in 2022, a Ukrainian ambush north of kyiv destroyed tanks and armored infantry in a stunning coup.

Why is Ukraine launching cross-border strikes against Russia?

By James Halpin, Foreign News Reporter

Ukraine itself has attacked Russia several times since the latter invaded its neighbor in February 2022.

The strikes included both ground assaults with tanks and troops, as well as the use of long-range missiles.

In March, Russian rebels supporting Ukraine, members of the Russian Freedom Legion (RFL), Siberian Battalion (SB) and Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK), launched a dual attack.

In May last year, the Free Russia Legion attacked the country as it sought to “build a free Russia.”

None of these incursions have so far succeeded in conquering territory, as the invaders have been repelled or have retreated.

Ultimately, they seek to expand Russian forces, strike Russia in unprotected areas, and destroy critical infrastructure such as logistics centers, ammunition depots, or disrupt Russian events.
