Reese Cooper’s New Outdoor Brand Wants to Awaken the Explorer in You

Reese Cooper’s New Outdoor Brand Wants to Awaken the Explorer in You

Three years ago, American vintage-inspired designer Reese Cooper, known for his utilitarian runway shows and for being the youngest CFDA/Vogue In 2019, Cooper began designing his own outdoor clothing line. Inspired by the “beauty and inclusiveness of California’s outdoor culture,” where the Florida-born fashion designer now resides, he sought to create products that complemented the lifestyles and hobbies he and his friends enjoy most: exploring nature’s bounty. Now, with the support of Pacsun, the fruit of Cooper’s labor has finally sprouted: an all-new sub-brand of expedition-ready outdoor apparel under a new banner, Reese Cooper Outdoor Supply.

“As someone who has always been in awe of nature, especially living in California, I wanted this collection to be as accessible as possible, reflecting the environments it draws inspiration from,”
“Designed and inspired by my friends, the RCOS ethos is to create products that withstand any environment, for any activity, whether it’s running in the city or in the mountains,” said Cooper.

The brand’s debut collection features a wide range of styles, from seam-sealed shell silhouettes to insulated outerwear and cargo pants crafted from nylon, sherpa fleece, waffle knit, heavyweight cotton and compression fabrics. Cooper’s signature crochet appears throughout the collection, serving as a link between this latest venture and the groundbreaking namesake brand that earned the designer the coveted Forbes Titled 30 Under 30. Elsewhere, graphic tees, hoodies and sweatpants familiarize the consumer with the imprint’s “RCOS” iconography, while custom rock pulls, zippers and speed belts remind them of the line’s natural mood board.

“These products are for everyone,” Cooper continued. “These are things you’re supposed to get dirty with and, most importantly, have fun doing it. When it comes to outdoor activities, I’m an enthusiast, not a professional. I’m a big believer in exploring new things, seeing new places, getting out of your comfort zone.”

Cooper practiced what he preached and embarked on a six-day road trip along the Pacific coast with a group of friends, including photographer Stefan Kohli, to shoot the collection’s campaign. The result, pictured above, is an honest representation of Cooper’s goal with his Outdoor Supply brand: to give you the tools to explore, no matter your level of expertise.

Reese Cooper Outdoor Supply is now available on the brand’s webstore and at select retailers, in sizes XXS to XXL. Additionally, the brand will be hosting a pop-up store in Los Angeles at 1452 E 6th Street, where you can shop the brand’s first drop from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on August 10 and 11.
