Biden Administration Announces Additional Security Assistance to Ukraine > U.S. Department of Defense > Statement

Today, the Department of Defense (DoD) announced additional security assistance to address Ukraine’s critical security and defense needs. This announcement marks the sixty-third tranche of equipment provided by the Biden Administration from the DoD stockpile to Ukraine since August 2021. This Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA) program, valued at $125 million, will provide Ukraine with additional capabilities to address its most pressing needs, including: air defense capabilities; multi-mission radars to detect and counter enemy artillery; and anti-tank weapons.

Features featured in this announcement include:

  • Stinger missiles;
  • Ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS);
  • 155 mm and 105 mm artillery ammunition;
  • Multi-mission radars;
  • Tube-launched, optically tracked and wire-guided (TOW) missiles;
  • Javelin and AT-4 anti-armor systems;
  • High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Ambulances (HMMWV);
  • Ammunition for small arms;
  • Demolition equipment and ammunition;
  • Critical national infrastructure protection equipment; and
  • Spare parts, auxiliary equipment, services, training and transportation.

The United States will continue to work with more than 50 allies and partners to ensure that Ukraine’s brave defenders receive the critical capabilities needed to combat Russian aggression.
