7 East Texas Residents Charged With Capital Murder Of 18-Year-Old

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KETK) – Three men and four teenagers were charged Thursday with capital murder in connection with the death of 18-year-old Angel Bonilla.

On July 30, the Nacogdoches Police Department said a A deceased teenager, identified as Bonilla, was found in a residence in the 400 block of W. California Street after police received reports that the home was struck multiple times by gunfire.

“A total of three people were reportedly shot during the homicide,” Nacogdoches police said.

Authorities say the suspects planned to rob people at the home, and evidence suggests at least three of the suspects used firearms during the robbery.

Authorities have issued arrest warrants for murder for the following Nacogdoches residents: Raul Molina Lopez, 20, Nathan Joshua Sauceda, 21, Santiago Mendoza, 19, Gerardo Christopher Ocon, 21, Lionso Antonio Torres, 19, and Eder Torres, 17. Martin H. Montalvo, 19, of Lufkin, also has an arrest warrant.

“A large number of firearms were recovered during the initial search warrants that were served and during the execution of today’s arrest warrants,” the police department said.

Nacogdoches police, with assistance from other agencies, took the suspects into custody without incident. One of the men was apprehended in Louisiana and the police department said arrangements are underway to return him to East Texas.

Nacogdoches officials said they have spent more than 1,534 hours working on the case and believe it is the largest murder investigation with a pool of suspects in department history.
