Apple Announces ‘Wolfs’ Sequel Ahead of Release

Ahead of its release, Apple has announced that Jon Watts will write a sequel to “Wolfs,” the upcoming film starring Brad Pitt and George Clooney. The film is set to make its world premiere at the 81st Venice International Film Festival before a limited theatrical release on September 20. “Wolfs” will make its global debut on Apple TV+ on Friday, September 27.

“Wolfs is the kind of blockbuster film that makes Apple TV+ a unique home for the best in entertainment,” said Matt Dentler, head of feature films, Apple Original Films. “With George and Brad’s remarkable and captivating chemistry under the extraordinary direction of Jon Watts, Wolfs blends all the great elements of comedy, action and drama into a wildly entertaining film that will leave audiences eager for more. Releasing the film in theaters before its general availability to Apple TV+ customers brings the best of both worlds to audiences, and we’re excited to see fans embrace the film as we begin work with Jon on the sequel.”

In “Wolfs,” Clooney plays a professional agent hired to cover up a high-profile crime. But when a second agent (Pitt) arrives and the two “lone wolves” are forced to work together, their night spirals out of control in ways neither expected. The all-star cast also includes Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, Poorna Jagannathan, Richard Kind and Zlatko Burić.

Coming from Apple Studios, “Wolfs” is an Apple Original Film written and directed by Watts. The film is produced in partnership with George Clooney’s Smokehouse Pictures and Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment.

Watts and Dianne McGunigle are producing. Clooney is producing alongside Grant Heslov for Smokehouse Pictures. Pitt is producing alongside Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner for Plan B Entertainment. Michael Beugg is executive producing.
