Bengaluru Police Solve ATM Robbery Attempt While Inspecting Murder Accused’s House

Madanayakanahalli police, who nabbed a murder accused within three hours of the incident, also cracked a case of attempted ATM theft when they saw a T-shirt at the accused’s house on Friday.

The accused, identified as Puneeth Nayak, was unemployed and living with his parents. According to the police, he had an altercation with Siddappa, his neighbour, over a trifle on Friday morning. In a fit of rage, Puneeth allegedly attacked Siddappa with a machete, killing him instantly, and fled the scene.

The police, acting on a complaint, found the accused within three hours of the murder. While he was being taken to his home to retrieve the weapon, the police found a T-shirt in the house. According to the police, it matched the one that had been filmed by a CCTV camera during an attempted robbery at an ATM located a few meters from the accused’s house.

According to the police, the accused worked in a garment factory. He allegedly barged into the ATM armed with a club and damaged the machine to open it and steal the money early on July 27. However, the alarm went off and the accused fled. The entire incident was caught on video. The police also recovered the club used by the accused from the house.
