HYBE founder Bang Si Hyuk was recently caught up in controversy after being photographed with racy banners on the streets of Los Angeles.

A street videographer had caught them crossing the road in Beverly Hills by chance. Their encounter became a hot topic, as the tagged girls are known to accept financial support from viewers in exchange for requests. One of the girls, Juice Seyeon, held a live stream on August 11, 2024, where she addressed the topic.

She clarified that her older sister knew Bang Si Hyuk, but did not explain how. In 2023, Juice Seyeon received a suspicious message from someone claiming to be from HYBE. She asked for help from her sister, who confirmed that it was a scam thanks to her connection to Bang Si Hyuk. Ultimately, the scammer was imprisoned. As for the accusations about having dinner with him in Los Angeles, Bang Si Hyuk had suggested a restaurant to Juice Seyeon and her sister. She was unable to make a reservation on short notice, but they were able to go if they accompanied her, thanks to his influence. Since the girls really wanted to eat there, the three of them ended up having dinner together.

In response to her clarification, netizens couldn’t believe her. While this was consistent with HYBE’s previous statement on the matter, netizens wondered if there was more to this story. After all, as a busy businessman, there was no reason for Bang Si Hyuk to have dinner with streamers he wasn’t particularly close to.
