Foo Fighters at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles: Concert Recap of Night 2

Foo Fighters closed out a two-date run at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles on Sunday night with a nearly three-hour set that would have threatened to blow the roof off the venue if it had one.

From the high-octane opener “The Teacher” (which is usually part of the encore) to the show-closing classic “Everlong,” Dave Grohl and co showed why, 30 years later, they are one of rock’s most enduring and beloved bands. A show of hands revealed that many fans had also come to Friday’s show, and the band went out of their way to change the setlist, replacing six songs and extending the second set by three songs. The show ended shortly before 11 p.m. with a fireworks display.

Although they always played harder live than on record with exhilarating passion, Foo Fighters also mixed their solid crunch with melodically rich songs, resulting in a night of sing-alongs to fan favorites like “All My Life,” “Times Like These,” “My Hero,” “Learn to Fly” and “Best of You.”

Nearly three hours later, as the band prepared to close the show with “Everlong,” Grohl reminded the audience that he didn’t like saying goodbye and that he and his bandmates would be back. “Nobody’s gonna stop anytime soon, just so you know,” he said, prompting a loud cheer from the crowd.

Below are five highlights from the concert.
