Midnight Mania: Jones Bets $100,000 on Himself by Getting His Legs Locked

Craig Jones has revealed the game plan for his upcoming freak show/superfight against nine-time ADCC champion Gabi Garcia. The jiu-jitsu ace and Craig Jones Invitational (CJI) host is known for his antics and ridiculous actions, but Jones wanted to publicly state his intentions ahead of his fight with Garcia.

He’s attacking his legs!

In a recent Instagram post, Craig posted a screenshot of a prop bet alongside a photo of himself looking down at his much larger opponent. Jones is betting big money on himself to win via leg lock in particular. He wrote, “In case you thought I was going to go easy on her. $100,000 of my own money is on the line.”

This type of betting would be illegal in the UFC, but there are no such regulations in the world of jiu-jitsu. There are virtually no doping controls!

The CJI will take place this weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will feature some of the biggest names in jiu-jitsu. The tournament will intentionally compete directly with the Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC) tournament, which was previously well-established as the top tier of no-gi jiu-jitsu. Jones, however, is unimpressed with the prize money offered by the ADCC, and so he has created his own tournament with some mysterious financial backing.
