All Bloodborne The Board Game Expansions, Ranked – Destructoid

Bloodborne The Board Game is a faithful and executed adaptation of the hit video game, and comes with four expansions to add even more adventures to Yharnam. Here are all the Bloodborne The Board Game extensions, classified.

Please note that I will be excluding Kickstarter exclusive expansions from this list, as it would be unfair to list them alongside the commercially available ones. For all the perfectionists among you, your only hope is to get them second-hand, I’m afraid.

Bloodborne the Forsaken Board Game Cainhurst Castle Expansion

THE Abandoned Cainhurst Castle extension for Bloodborne The Board Game is one of two expansions that adds two new campaigns And a side chapter that can be integrated into any other campaign in the franchise. However, the theme, choices, and inclusion of my dear and tender Alfred make this one take the top spot.

After playing the first chapter of Abandoned Cainhurst CastlePlayers will have the choice to choose a side in an ancient conflict. This will determine the narrative and conflicts that follow, although both paths are interesting and fun to play.

Traversing the intricate and interestingly constructed tiles of Cainhurst Castle was fun in its own right, and the particular and haunting quests that must be completed made for an engaging and thematic experience. While the overall enemy roster isn’t the most interesting of all, Bloodborne The Board Game expansions, I found the narrative, quests, and layout to be the most engaging.

The bosses are also great, with Annalise and Martyr Logarius posing serious threats in their fights. After finishing one of the campaigns, I immediately wanted to play the other side again. The extra side chapter is also something I always hope to find in every other game I play.

bloodborne forbidden woods board game expansion

As Abandoned Cainhurst Castle, Forbidden Forest comes with two full campaigns and a side chapter that can be played in any other Bloodborne The Board Game campaign. The dark and dangerous woods provide a great change of pace, and the enemies here are probably my favorite of all the expansions.

The terrain tiles here really make me feel like I’m in undesirable and mysterious territory, and the venomous and foul enemies are both a terror and a joy to fight. My friend and I don’t just I managed to get through the first chapter after having completed all of our other games with relative ease.

Although I never found the theme and stories as interesting as in Abandoned Cainhurst CastleThis expansion stood out to me a bit more during the game. CMON nailed the environmental and immersive element of running through the horrific woods with no idea what’s coming next.

The bosses here are awesome, though I was much more apprehensive about the giant abandoned board. As with the Cainhurst side chapter, I was looking forward to playing the Forbidden Forest parallel chapter of all future campaigns.

bloodborne board game chalice dungeon expansion

THE Chalice Dungeon extension for Bloodborne The Board Game adds a huge amount of content and offers two new ways to play the game. With a brand new tileset, new hunters, and many new enemies, the Chalice of Yharnam dungeons will offer exciting and tougher one-shots.

The goal of these sessions is simple. Work with or against other players to find the dungeon boss and defeat him. Featuring five new bosses and seven new enemies, as well as being compatible with any assortment of bosses and enemies from other campaigns, the Chalice Dungeon lets you dive right into the exciting action that Bloodborne The Board Game provides.

Additionally, traps will give you additional problems, which PvP mode will only make worse. Participating in terribly tense and gruesome fights as you progress towards the boss never gets boring and is always personal.

Some of the bosses here are simply amazingand the tile sets are the coolest of the bunch, in my opinion, anyway.

Bloodborne Board Game Hunter's Dream Expansion

THE The Hunter’s Dream extension for Bloodborne The Board Game adds an additional fourth chapter that you can add to any existing campaign. With the hunt over, you and your party return to the dream, but something is amiss.

This additional chapter is full of surprises and fights, including a secret fight that can only be won by being diligent in your quests. During this chapter, you will face other hunters and travel to the Workshop at its peak to get answers.

I had a great time playing this expansion, and the additional mini-boss hunters can be added to any other chapter for an emergent surprise that will make for a challenging but rewarding fight. This is something I’m incorporating into all future chapters, as it’s fun, challenging, and definitely intimidating.

As much as I love the The Hunter’s Dream extension for Bloodborne The Board GameIt doesn’t quite have the replay value of the above expansions, but it’s a strong personal recommendation. It does, however, contain enough interesting events that you’ll want to play it a second time. But that’s all I’ll say.

With these Bloodborne The Board Game expansions explained and classified, all you have to do is choose one to have a fantastic gaming evening.
