Ho99o9 and The Armed cancel co-headlining tour

Ho99o9 and The Armed cancel co-headlining tour

With just weeks to go until their tour begins, Detroit hardcore band The Armed and punk-rap duo Ho99o9 have announced that their project has been canceled. The reason for the cancellation, however, depends on who you ask.

The news comes after both sides released statements on social media explaining that the tour that was supposed to span September and October would not happen. And while both bands will continue to perform at various festivals, this is pretty much the only time you’ll see them on the same bill for now.

According to Ho99o9, the need to cancel the tour was due to the desire to ensure their live show was the best it could be.

“We would like to inform you that our fall tour with The Armed is unfortunately cancelled. As you know, we take our shows very seriously. We strive to make them a better experience for all of you and are currently finalizing and focusing on our third album. It’s a shame that we won’t be able to meet up this fall. We truly appreciate your patience.”

“Tickets will be automatically refunded to buyers. We will continue to play @aftershockfestival, @louderthanlifefest and @rollingloud. Hold each other tight and stay ready; 999”

As for The Armed, they blame several reasons for the tour’s cancellation, citing what they call a “domino effect” of things that were out of their control.

“This is incredibly painful to do. But the domino effect of some cancellations beyond our control (weather, health, etc.) combined with some personal emergencies has forced us to make some costly and drastic changes over the summer. This has led to a financial situation that we had hoped to overcome behind the scenes over the last couple of months. However, as the tour is in pre-production and has required resources, we are not discouraged. Please know that the feeling is mutual. This is by far the coolest project we could have imagined and we were thrilled to bring it to life.”

“Infinite love to the other bands, promoters, venues, booking agents and everyone else who has stepped up to help us make this work, and understood when we couldn’t do it. Again, a huge thank you to ALL OF YOU who have been working so hard to get the merch out there over the last couple of weeks.

“We will continue to honor our festival obligations and we will perform with the fury of a hundred billion suns. Seriously. Prepare yourself for the craziest shows of your fucking lives at 3pm.”

“To help us blow off steam, we will also be bringing back No Rest Fest in December in Detroit. More information on that VERY soon. Ticket holders will be contacted by promoters regarding refunds.

“Please note that while this sucks, this is basic operating order and a common backstage stress for bands like ours. The finances of an indie band are quite fragile and often handled in a global manner. And one (or in this case, several) issue(s) often has long-term consequences. We are NOT seeking any additional sympathy. We apologize for the inconvenience. Countless peers find themselves in very similar situations all the time, often handled quietly with a lot of elbow grease and intelligence. This is the unfortunate case that goes a little past the breaking point.

“We will have many exciting things to experience. We will see you again soon. We will never die. We love you all so, so, so much.”

So, the tour has been cancelled. If you were planning on going, you might want to consider other plans now.
