Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards isn’t done celebrating his successful summer yet.

Edwards posted a freestyle rap on Instagram inspired by Team USA winning gold at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant were among the teammates he saluted in the minute-long video:

The 23-year-old was one of the few bright spots at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, where the United States finished a disappointing fourth. In Paris, he established himself as the national team’s next standard-bearer, with James, Curry and Durant likely to leave. He averaged 12.8 points on 58 percent shooting.

That was after Edwards took another step forward during the 2023-24 NBA season, making his second straight All-Star team and collecting a handful of MVP VotesHe averaged 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game in the regular season before helping the Wolves reach the Western Conference Finals.

Edwards has already put the brakes on his participation in the next World Cup in 2027. In four years, he could celebrate another triumph for the American team.

Who knows? Maybe we’ll see the 6’4″ point guard freestyle the Larry O’Brien Trophy long before then.
