Kia EV9 Family SUV Review: 22 Features That Make This Electric Vehicle Stand Out

  • The Kia EV9 is an all-new three-row electric family SUV for 2024.
  • I recently tested a 2024 Kia EV9 in the top-of-the-line GT-Line trim.
  • I was impressed by the EV9’s performance, its spacious, high-tech interior and its striking design.

The Kia EV9 is one of the most important electric vehicles coming to market in 2024. The Korean EV is the first all-electric three-row family SUV in the U.S. market from a mainstream brand.

Until the EV9, the three-row electric SUV market was dominated by premium brands like the Tesla Model X, Rivian R1S and Mercedes-Benz EQS.

I recently tested a 2024 Kia EV9 in top-of-the-line GT-Line trim, which was priced at $78,430 as tested. I was impressed by the SUV’s solid driving dynamics, spacious, tech-rich cabin, and striking looks.

The base “Light” rear-wheel-drive version starts at $54,900. Those wanting all-wheel drive will have to opt for the mid-level Wind version, which starts at $63,900.

My top-of-the-line EV9 GT-Line model with all-wheel drive starts at $73,900.

Freight charges and additional options, such as the $2,000 second-row relaxation package, pushed the price of the model tested to more than $78,000.

The cheapest Rivian costs about $20,000 more than the cheapest EV9. However, the base Rivian is more powerful, faster, and offers more range than the base EV9.

Here’s a closer look at some of my favorite features that set it apart from the crowd.
