Police: Young Raj caught taking exam in place of another candidate | Kanpur News

A young Raj is required to take an exam in place of another candidate

Kanpur: A solver from Rajasthan was caught by police at Subhash Memorial Inter College in Saket Nagar, Kidwainagar, during the ongoing police recruitment examSATURDAY.
Police noticed discrepancies in the photographs on the admit card and Aadhaar card of a candidate after which he was questioned. It emerged that the accused, Narendra Singh, a native of Rajasthan, had appeared for the exam in place of another candidate.The police have arrested the accused and question him at the police station.
During interrogation, Narendra revealed that he had already cleared the written exam for the recruitment of constables in Madhya Pradesh Police and his physical assessment was scheduled for September 23.
He was trying to take the exam on behalf of a candidate named Ramdeen for a fee of Rs 500,000. “Driven by his greed for money, he decided to take the exam by proxy.” The police are still investigating the case.
DCP South Ravindra Kumar said on Sunday that on Saturday (August 24), during the second shift of the examination at Subhash Memorial Inter College, Saket Nagar, Kanpur (centre no. 49066), in room no. 7, a discrepancy was found between the photograph on the admit card and the Aaadhaar card of one candidate Ramdeen Singh, son of Raghuveer, of Sheetal Bihar Colony, Kalika Nagla, Agra, with roll number 3487810. This information was provided by invigilators, Dev Narayan Sachan of Subhash Memorial Inter College and Ashish Gupta of Nivada Bhartua Primary School Bhitargaon Kanpur Nagar.
“After detailed interrogation, the candidate revealed his real identity as Narendra Singh, son of Lal Singh, resident of Aam Ka Pura, Rajakheda police station, Dholpur district, Rajasthan,” the DCP added.
The DCP said he had admitted to appearing for the exam on behalf of Ramdeen in exchange for a sum of Rs 500,000. “The accused has confessed his involvement as a solver in the exam hall, driven by his greed. A case has been registered at Kidwainagar police station under the UP Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Ordinance, 2024 and relevant sections of the BNS, including 318 (4) and 319 (2). Separate teams have been deployed to arrest Ramdeen, the accomplice of the accused,” the DCP added.
