Three cars damaged in arson attack in east Belfast

Police have said they are treating an incident in which three cars were damaged in east Belfast overnight as arson with intent to endanger life.

It was reported shortly after 03:35 BST that a white Mercedes and a silver Volkswagen were set alight in Dunraven Court.

Firefighters responded to the scene and dealt with the incident.

Both cars were completely destroyed and a red Citroën vehicle that was parked nearby was also damaged.

Detective Sergeant Kitchen said windows had also been damaged in a neighbouring house due to the heat.

Police said no one was injured.
