“I would like to apologize to you again with a heavy heart. I deeply apologize for disappointing and hurting my fans and everyone who loves me with my wrongdoings,” Suga wrote on social media platform South Koran. “I forgot my sense of responsibility to repay the love I received through my actions and made a big mistake.”

According to South Korea’s Yonhap news agency, a police officer found Suga lying on the ground after falling off his electric scooter in Seoul’s Yongsan district. The officer gave him a breathalyzer test, which revealed that his blood alcohol level was above 0.08 percent, the legal limit, the agency said.

Suga was detained at Yongsan Police Station for traffic violations and was questioned by officers before being released, the outlet reported.

“It’s all my fault. My carelessness makes life difficult for everyone who cares about me. I will try not to do any more bad things and live my life repenting,” he continued in his latest apology.

“Because of this incident, I have greatly tarnished the precious memories I created with the members and fans and I have tarnished the name of BTS,” Suga added.

“I am so sorry and in so much pain that it is hard to express how much I have hurt the members and the team. I am sorry that the members who always believed in me had to suffer because of me,” the statement continued. “And I also know very well how disappointed the fans who supported and cheered me on must have felt.”

He then concluded his note by saying: “I will gladly accept any punishment that is inflicted on me in the future, as well as criticism and reprimands. Finally, I bow once again and sincerely apologize for causing social controversy and disappointing many people.”

Suga had previously apologized in another note shared on WeVerse on August 7, assuring his followers that “no other people or establishments” were affected by the scooter accident.

Following the initial incident, BTS’s record label, BigHit Entertainment, released a statement on its website and wrote that it “apologizes for BTS member Suga’s electric skateboard accident.”

“We will take further precautions to ensure that such incidents do not happen again in the future,” BigHit Entertainment added.
