COMMENTARY BY THIAGO MOTTA

“Pressing the opponent naturally involves risks because you have to get out of the way, but if you do it well you can win the ball back when the opponent is exposed, which gives you the advantage of finishing the move quickly. Congratulations to all the guys, Dusan scored, but the credit goes to everyone because they pressed well and we got the goal.”

They are strong players, with a lot of talent and quality. We help them to get on the pitch in the best conditions to express their abilities, but they are high-level players who, when they play together like this, show the difference they can make.

Attitude is very important, as is reading the game. At the beginning of the match, the opponent was waiting for us and trying to take advantage of our mistakes by counterattacking quickly. But when they came to press us, we put the pressure on and we have a lot of players who know how to do it. This approach is very beautiful to see. And we see it with our fans: today, there were 3,500 people singing for us from the first to the last minute. These players clearly transmit the desire to do well.”

VLAHOVIC’S WORDS

“I am happy for Nicolò for his goal, for the team and for the fans after tonight’s victory. In the first game I didn’t score, I was a bit unlucky, but today we scored two goals and I am very happy with the way we approached the game. The result is the result of our work. We work a lot with the coach on attitude and aggression. Everything starts from there, if you have the right mindset, everything else falls into place: playing as a team, supporting each other and then following the tactical instructions that we know so well.”

CABAL COMMENTARY

“The trust the coach has in us is essential for us to adapt here at Juve. He gives confidence to everyone: to the experienced players, to the younger ones and to the new ones like me. I’m happy, this match was very important for me, especially against the team that brought me to Europe. We all run on the pitch, we sacrifice ourselves for our teammates, we are a family.”

SAVONE’S COMMENT

“I’m very happy to have scored my first goal in Serie A. Dusan told me he didn’t touch it, so I guess he left it to me. It’s a dream, and I hope we can continue like this.”
