CBI concludes second round of polygraph tests on former hospital superintendent RG Kar

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday concluded a second round of polygraph tests on former RG Kar Medical College and Hospital (RGKMCH) principal Sandip Ghosh in its probe into the rape and murder of a woman doctor at the institution.
CBI sources had earlier said that the test would be conducted by a team from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL).
Earlier, CBI officials had conducted a polygraph test on arrested accused Sanjay Roy in connection with the incident.
Meanwhile, the anti-corruption wing of the Central Bureau of Investigation conducted raids on August 25 at several locations linked to Sandip Ghosh and his relatives in Kolkata, West Bengal.
On August 24, the CBI filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Dr Sandip Ghosh based on the directions of the Calcutta High Court.
The investigation was launched after a single bench of the High Court directed the CBI to probe alleged corruption in the medical college.
The Calcutta High Court has given the CBI three weeks to submit a status report on the investigation, which is due on September 17.
Earlier this month, the Supreme Court had ordered that the security of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata be handed over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) while hearing the suo motu case regarding the incident.
