Salinas residents will soon have a new health care option when Kaiser Permanente begins its rollout in Monterey County.

The new Kaiser facility on North Davis Road is expected to open in January 2025.

Eligible Salinas residents, including new and existing Covered California members, will be able to sign up for coverage when open enrollment for the state’s health care exchange begins Nov. 1. When it is offered, people can also enroll through their employer, according to a statement from Kaiser Permanente.

Kaiser Permanente already serves about 5,000 Monterey County members who currently receive care in Santa Cruz, San Jose or Gilroy, according to Kaiser Permanente’s website.

A new website, kp.org/HelloMonterey, will be used to update the community and allow residents to check if they are eligible for coverage by entering their zip code under the “Purchase Plans” tab.
