Adam Pearce Announces Punishment CM Punk Will Face for Actions on WWE Raw

Following CM Punk’s surprise attack on Drew McIntyre on the August 26 episode of “WWE Raw,” Adam Pearce spoke out X to announce the repercussions of kayfabe on “The World’s Finest.”

During a segment of the show, McIntyre cut an in-ring promo regarding his upcoming strap match against Punk at Bash at Berlin. As Punk’s music hit, McIntyre turned his attention to the ramp, but Punk attacked him from behind with the strap in hand. After a back-and-forth exchange that ended with McIntyre being thrown into the background on the announce table, Punk vented his frustration to “local security” who intervened to subdue him. As a result, “Raw” General Manager Pearce stated that Punk had been fined “an undisclosed amount” for his role in the melee.

Punk challenged McIntyre to an old-school gimmick match on the August 19 edition of “Raw,” which McIntyre accepted. This will be the second official match between the feuding WWE stars after their first encounter at SummerSlam, which McIntyre won. A leather strap and a sentimental plastic bracelet have since been inserted into the storyline to heighten the drama. After the two men’s first encounter, McIntyre admitted that Punk caught him off guard, suggesting that Punk’s greatest asset in the fight is his heart and “cardio durability.” Bash in Berlin, WWE’s next premium live event, takes place on Saturday, August 31, from the Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany.
