Brittany Mahomes has another message for her “haters.” No, not those haters. This time, she’s talking about the people calling her out for liking a Donald Trump Instagram post.

“I mean honestly,” Mahomes wrote in an Instagram Story posted on August 23, per New York Post. “To be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood.” She continued, “There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well.”

The Trump post Mahomes liked, uploaded on August 13, is a graphic of the GOP’s 2024 presidential platform, and includes such promises as, “Carry out the largest deportation operation in American history;” and, “Cut federal funding for any school pushing Critical Race Theory, Radical Gender Ideology.” After Mahomes appeared to have double-tapped the post (which she since appears to have un-double-tapped), the internet backlash came with a swiftness.

“I don’t understand how someone with a daughter can support Trump. Smh,” wrote one person under an (unrelated) Instagram photo of Mahomes with her two kids. “I really cannot believe you support Trump. So disappointing,” another person commented on the same post.

But the most anger came from Twitter. A sampling of the critical tweets: “Brittany Mahomes agreeing with Project 2025 but married to a black man with mixed kids is insane;” and, “Why are you guys shocked that brittany mahomes is a trumpie like that is the most obvious case of fork found in kitchen i’ve never seen;” and, “The funniest part of the Brittany Mahomes thing is that she had basically rehabbed her image entirely via the QB Netflix series and w/ Taylor… turns out she’s just a loser after all!”

Because before she was getting backlash for seeming to co-sign the MAGA agenda, Brittany Mahomes was regularly targeted by the internet for far sillier reasons. “Haters,” as Mahomes terms them, came after her for appearing “annoying,” “entitled,” and, “insufferable.” The anti-Mahomes energy had seemed to die down after she began palling around with Taylor Swift, but that era might now be officially over.
